After a 9.00 a.m. inspection the match referee has called the game off due to waterlogged pitch. The postponement report shows that 70% of the pitch is waterlogged, and the referee and I both agreed that the likelihood of the dry being playable by 3.00 p.m were remote. I know that the wind is blowing at the moment and the sun is shining, but in the referee's (and my opinion) the pitch is now, and will be at 3.00 p.m. unplayable.

Any news on the Ressie game at AFC Wombles? Is that one in doubt?

Looking at the pitch about midday i reckon with the sunshine and the wind it would be playable by 3.00pm.
Why call it off so early when the opposition are coming too great a distance?

From my recollection of our pitch - if it was 70% water logged it will take two days with a strong wind to make it match fit. It is hard at the top and the rain settles and settles on it, if it had been 40% waterlogged at the most it may have been 'forkable'. We are all forked off about it, but that is the way it is. Sad

Strange decision - there weren't a puddle in sight when I woke up first thing. Was a beautiful day, sunshine too.

Radar shows that almost all Ryman Div 1 grounds suffered heavy rain last night .
Surely the inspection was too early bearing in mind that ours was the only game  called off.

What makes it worse is the fact that barring a miracle I will have to miss the re- arranged game.

The first home game I have missed all season.

Has anyone at Tonbridge heard of radiation.

It's what the sun does!!
