AShford signings
« on: Friday, 24 March, 2006, 11:20.32 »

Ryman League Division One strugglers Ashford Town have signed three new players in order to strengthen their squad before transfer deadline day on March 31st.

Utility player Danny Simmonds has signed from Nationwide South outfit Eastbourne Borough, where he has been a regular first-team player for three seasons and rejected a dual move to former side Hastings United in order to join the Nuts & Bolts.

He spent eight seasons at Hastings and was expected to return to the Pilot Field before being snapped up by Ashford boss Tim Thorogood.

Stuart Playford (pictured), who had a spell at Ashford a few seasons ago, and has since played at Hastings and Folkestone Invicta, has also joined along with Shaun Loft from Hastings.

All should be available for the game against third-placed Horsham on Saturday, as will new boy Dan Tanner, a recent capture from Ryman League Premier Division side Folkestone Invicta.

There's the other school of thought that Ramsgate are too far ahead now for us to realistically think about challenging them unless they (highly unlikely) go on a desperately bad run.

Think about it... the more games Casuals lose the more chance they will already be doomed by the time they play us (thus won't be playing for their lives against us).

......and then pressure off them so they start to play some good stuff?

Hmm, us vs Hampton, last game of the season 04/05?! Roll Eyes
