An excellent post Dick. In the last 7 games we have scored 4 goals - one an OG one a penalty and a mere one from a striker (Main against Tingtong)

no forward has scored for a month ! yet we have MAin May Huggins falana even razor and thats not a bad strike force. I think the point about the centre midfield is well made. Danny Lye had a stinker but his game is to win the ball and dump it quick (something he managed a mere once) we are looking to Barnes to be our creator and in spells he shows it. also we kept Ward on the bench all game yet he could have replced Lye like for like  maybe ?

I agree we desperately need a creative midfielder -someone with pace ,flair and the ability to turn a game.  Agreed not easy to find, yet (and we all know the problems off the field) we have one - LUKE PISCINA.

With 11 games to go surely now is the time to focus on promotion and get Luke back into first team action -whatever has been going on must be put aside for the good of the club. Also if Wade Falana is going to chip in he must get more than a 5 minute run out- it does him no good as he can hardly get into the game. Maybe a couple of 90 minute stints for the ressies rather than sit on the bench and not be utilised ?
On a positive note Sodje looked very useful yesterday and COULD be an inspirational signing.
Maybe we will give 433 a try with

Razor JB Chopper and glozier
Barrnes Dobla Lye
Sodje Main Logan

that way we get to use Doblas distribution and attacking bias with Lye giving cover and have 3 attackers with the wingers cutting in from the width ?

lets hope Tuesday we get back on track and start a run of victories

I was amazed by the substitutions yesterday. Sodje and May were our best two players on the pitch, May clearly is already learning a few 'tricks' from Wade as he was a lot stronger in the air and holding the ball up, so why take off these two and put on the prolific Huggins? Of course we all know what happened when Sodje went off, they went up the other end and scored and we knew it was all over.

Can I also just say that Danny Lye was a different class yesterday.  Undecided

Thoroughly agree with all the points about yesterday, missed chances, etc., but can I just add what an entertaining game it was and a credit to the Ryman First Division. If anybody was there just as a neutral they must have thoroughly enjoyed it. It was played in good spirit and I thought the referee did pretty well and the Horsham choir had some really funny songs.

a great game, great atmosphere on a big pitch(shame about the slope), a draw would have been the fairest result.
Surely we will score goals soon, John Main's open goal miss was hard to take.

Cannot make tuesday, please hurl plenty of abuse at that thug of a Whyteleafe goalie.

last point: have you ever seen so many dogs at a ground before(4 legged)?

That is a very well written piece.  Smiley

I particularly liked;

" Frankland then had to punch clear a corner and Charman prevented Lye from reproducing Omar Pouso's spectacular midweek strike for Uruguay against England as he headed the Tonbridge man's volley off the line."
