Woah, having read that through, I sound far too much like my mum!!  crazy2

Don't know why I've all of a sudden become more positive........must be a combination of the pay cheque I've just received and the salmon and cucumber sandwiches I've just demolished.

And it's not a price increase, as Oldnow pointed out - dont know where the £7 came from unless I was paying more than everyone else last season!!!

Don't mistake Realism for negativity. I think Kentishman is best placed at matches to see if the price of admission affects the Golden Goal and the raffle and the programme sales.

For the supporters to be told one thing, and then with no explanation another tact is taken, that is what has caused all the negative postings.

I don't know what supporters of visiting clubs are going to make of the price of entrance to Longmead. They may find it too high a price pay and stay away.

Well i suppose id better put my 2 peneth in. I am really pleased with the drop in child admission prices, as with 2 kids who enjoy coming down it is a small saving.
I could have done with a drop in adult costs but as has already been said its only a quid and if they dropped it down to £7 are they going to gain any more. I think not.
Basically people are not happy unless there is something to moan about are they? So.....................in that case. Has anyone informed everyone of the bar price hikes. £3 a pint!!!!!!!!!! its criminal......... 2funny

I'm with Kentishman.

It WAS £7 but raised to £8 to help the fight to stay in the with a chance of staying up.

The point is not about the £1 but the conflict of bad communication and non-consultation.

PS, OLD NOW - I knew Gareth well and he was NOT on bugger all money so please do not try to mis lead people.

I think what Oldnownewangel was trying to suggest was that Gareth earned very little in comparison to some of the more experienced players.....

I had a quick chat with Nick last night and again this morning, he was disappointed ,to say the least, with some negative reaction over the past week.

With regard to prices Nick did say that he was going to reduce prices, and indeed he has done that with the kids reduction. However a final look over the playing budget identified Tony's needs to build a succesful team and the decision was made to maintain the Adult rate at £8 (no increase/no decrease).

Nicks main concern is that the club build a solid fan base and try and help financially those who most struggle to find the admission money.

To this end last night after discussions with other involved board members the FULL set of prices was finalised and is as follows.

ADULTS    £8
OAPS/DISABLED AND STUDENTS WITH VALID ID £4
UNDER 16s   £2

This reperesenst a potential saving for both students over 18 and  juniors . But as Nick is keen to promote the club as a family concern there will also now be a family ticket.
For £18 this will admit a family of 2 adults and 2 children and will show a saving on last seasons raates of £6 per family.

I truly hope this will put an end to the moans and groans and make people realise the effort Nick is putting in to constantly improve the club.

I think we have all seen the improvement on the pitch the last 2 games........
