Here we go again.

Defence excellent, especially in the first half when I hope we played our prefered line up. With Aris marshalling the younger players (Beales and Cramp) Margate offered no threat at all and this bodes well for the new season but I can't get away from the fact that even with the new boy up front we still struggled to open up their defence.

No doubt about it that when Barnes came off we were weaker but the real difference between the two sides was the now familiar elementary mistake involving John Farley that ultimately decided the match.

Well done to both sides particularly the youngsters and triallists on both sides.

I know it is only the silly season but its good to air our observations this early.

Totally agree NewryM but must add that:

.....Dobla looks great in midfield and...

.....i did not think Crampy looked totally at home once he had moved to left back during the 2nd half after which Margate got through down that flank a number of times.
In the middle of defence he is outstanding so i would prefer to leave him there. this could pose a (nice) problem for Dobla once the season starts so i can visualise John Farley starting a lot of games on the bench.

I cannot wait until we get our teeth into the proper games. it is looking good.

a few errors are forgivable but less than 100% commitment is not.
losing is never an option.

Cramp is not the largest centre back in the world and a wide left player he aint but he like Bealsey is very mobile at the heart of the defence in the same way as Patch Blackman was last season.

Spot on about Dolbers contribution on the pitch.
