V Margate Tuesday
« on: Tuesday, 19 July, 2005, 11:43.32 »

I see that your club has acquired some decent players this season and I would like to wish you all the best for the coming season. You host our club tonight and whilst this will just be a game to find out about certain players I must warn you all not to expect too much from us.This is our first friendly,we have news of 4 or 5 certain signings from last season but after that we are all in the wilderness as far as to what other players we may have. Those that can attend from down here will be able to report back on such details but as it is now I canot see us giving justice to our name. However it is a learning game so regardless of the result(which to many isnt important) I hope that the feedback we get is positive.Enjoy the friendly and will look to your progress this year with interest. Good luck and enjoy the game.Hope both teams can get some positives from it. Undecided

You are more than welcome to a continuation of your unbeaten run but just so long as we the fans get some positive feedback from the game then it seems both sets of suporters will come away happy and contented. Would appreciate YOUR fans comments(in truth) about the players we have on offer tonight. Look forward to reading your posts on mine and other GATE fans behalfs who cant make the journey tonight.

a few errors are forgivable but less than 100% commitment is not.
losing is never an option.

Kentishman, you were right - it was a fairly even match that nobody deserved to win.... Angry

Considering no-one knew even if we had players at all the feedback from our forum was very encouraging. Some decent players amongst them and now at least we know we not only have some players but that some are quite o.k.
Can those of you that went there give us your unbiased opinion as to the players abilities and who shone,if you noticed any that is from our side and those that stood out,if any. Thanks for the game, thanks for helping us fans realise that we DO have players other than the 5 we already knew about. Your thoughts and comments,if any, would be very welcome.

Charlie Mitten looked solid but was never really properly tested. John Keister looked quality at the back. Your left-back (No.3) looked particularly impressive and was by far your best player on the pitch. In comparison, your right-back (No. 2) looked awful. Danny Chapman looked lazy and not very skillful at all. Moses Jiunjiu had a quiet match. Other than that, nobody else really distinguished themselves.

Your left-back (No.3), Mark Green. Is that the same Mark Green that was a Gillingham youth/reserve player?

If so, he's awesome on Footy Manager  Grin
