Tonbridge Fiesta
« on: Monday, 18 July, 2005, 12:01.23 »

Tonbridge Angels Youth U12's won the Tonbridge Fiesta on Saturday. It was an excellent day for the CLUB as two Angels teams contested the final in what was a win-win situation.
The Angels managed to enter 3 teams and all the boys that represented the club were once again a credit to the club not only in the quality of their football but also in the way in which they conducted themselves.

Congratulations to the winning squad consisting of skipper Alex Wellbelove, Lewis Carey, Danny Wills, George Benner, Mark Simcox, Gregg Keddy, Eddie Sharman and Matt Green.

As a supporter of football i always look forward to the Tonbridge Junior Football club annual fiesta. It's a fantastic day out.

I watched Simon's team of U12's in the afternoon, as i've always followed the progress of the team through his reports on the forum. They were very strong and looked unbeatable. They won all their group games except drawing only one (as far as i can remember) against the host team.

They were very well disciplined and deserved thier success. Well done lads!  Smiley

It was a great afternoon for all 3 u-12 teams and with two of them getting to the final, fantastic.

Having watched Si's lad's, i must say that they looked very good. With the leadership and goals from Alex, not forgetting a long range effort from George that nobody would have stopped, it was a great team performance with everyone making a big contribution.

Well done to all the lads. coolsmiley

The Under 15's (this coming season's 16's) also won their age group. It just goes to show that the club are getting the foundations right and the future certainly looks positive.
I must mention how well Tonbridge Juniors organise and run that tournament, very professional.

I watched the U14's (this coming season's U15's) in the morning. They came 3rd in their group. They had some good performances and could have done a lot better, but their game lacked the discipline and consistancy for them to be trophy winners on the day.
