After reading some of the dates I don't know whether I should say?? Grin
!950 Had a rare Saturday off from playing, so went to a game with my
Father & brothers. Cant remember who we played that day? But do
remember the angel Belgium player who got transfered to Pompey.
The thing I remember about the first game, was a very big goalie, who
could pick the ball up with one hand??

Either 1968 or 1969, whichever season we finished bottom with 10 points. My Dad took me to see The Angels play Cambridge City, pretty certain we were beaten. We then carried on for the rest of the season and then followed The Angels ever since through more lows than highs but still good fun. Saw all our Kent League games except 5.

I moved to Southampton about 9 years ago so only got to see a handful of games at Longmead and some away games. Now live in Spain so get to see 2/3 games per season, will be at Longmead with my Dad (who's 77) for the Walton Casuals game in March.

I have little recollection of my first Tonbridge game and have no idea who it was against unfortunately, but it was sometime around the late 70's so it would be nice to think I did actually see a game at The Angel Ground.

For some reason I didn't return until the Kent League days, about 1990, I remember the FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round match versus Littlehampton when we were beaten 3-2.

Admittedly with the aid of Ian White's archive. 19th December 1959 v Bath City. I was eight years old and taken to see the match as a player called Charlie Fleming, known as Cannonball Fleming was playing for Bath. He was an ex-Sunderland player who was famous in his day for his 'cannonball' shot. Whether he scored that day, goodness only knows. In the 1960's, Tommy Bickerstaff's mum worked with my mum and through him for a while I was Tonbridge's one and only ball boy . I stayed loyal until the demise of the Angel Ground at which time I was bitterly upset with the council, the club and subsequently divorced myself from them. About 10 years ago I returned and whilst I'm a season ticket holder at a League Club I watch Tonbridge regularly home and away. I can see myself returning to the club as a full-time supporter in the future, as retirement approaches and the cost of the Football League becomes prohibitive, never forget your first love, sort of thing.

I couldnt tell you who the opposition was but my first game was at Longmead during the early to mid 80's. I seem to remember that the changing rooms were where the "Legends Bar" now is but I may be wrong.

My grandad took me to a game probably in the early '60s. I'm fairly sure it was against either Ramsgate or Tunbridge Wells. That was a one-off until I started at Judd in 1963 and some time after that some load of idiots persuaded me to go to a game which I do remember was an FA Cup match against Hastings.

Then more or less continously until work intervened in the 70's, then in and out until the end of last season and now I follow from distant parts of course.

Moved up to Kent in 1990 from Devon and was lost without regular footie. So one Saturday(?) decided to go watch Tunbridge Wells v Lewes.... utter ****e... and normally you get one man and his dog... think the dog had had enough and stayed at home for that one!

Asked some of the locals if there were any other teams in the area... 'Try the Angels' said one. OK. So I did.

First recollection of a decent game at Longmead was a 0-0 (might be wrong on that – memory fades when you get to my age!) against Herne Bay in the Kent League...

Hardly missed a home game since. Last away game? Walton Casuals... best forgotten!

A match around about the time that we played Charlton in the FA Cup. It was all Brian's fault - he has at least 5 fans to answer for!
I remember watching Hastings and Maidstone, so it was probably one of them.
Apparently my great great grandad owned a horse & cart  taxi business next to the Angel when it was a field at the back of the hotel, a family connection some 100 years before the Angels were formed!

I think mine was about '78 against Dunstabubble, we won (I think) 2-0, mummy took me !  Don't know why either because she's not wot you'd call a diehard footy fan.  Dan can confirm the year and score as he's got all my early programmes.
Attended a few games at the Angel and then really caught the bug when we moved to Longmead, remember the first games there being in front of large crowds but as usual we didn't perform !
The most memorable season to date for me has to be 83/84 ( I think) when Keirs was in charge and Phil Emblen and Tony Dixon were at the back...so nearly got promoted and needed to beat Crawley something like 11-0 on the final day....Dave Braham scored his first ever goal....he made roadrunner look slow.
