Yep, it was fleet revisited but this time at home.  I would have preferred to have seen charlie start.  At set pieces he is very dangerous (remember folkscum last season).  Steve May although quick doesn't look as good as Lee Carey but one game doesn't make him a poor player.  What was dobla doin' looks so far off the pace at the mo, prob lack of games.  As oldnew said we really missed danny.  Plus points were Michail, Beales and glozier and big plus to jay may, really made a difference except scoring.
still with the dopver result, we're still in there and who wants to be top at this atge of the season

Fair point there Dengal, I still think we're in prime position and indeed, the best possible position. I'm sure Ramsgate, Horsham, Dover and Tooting would all be delighted to swap positions with us.

Charlie Farley is dangerous from set-pieces but I'm sure Dobla thought Steve May would have coped much better with the pace that Met Police possessed. May is a decent player, just remember back to the Worcester game where he was arguably our best player that afternoon.

Dobla, in recent games, has been a little off the pace, not sure as to why. Probably, like Dengal said, a lack of games. I'd personally love to see Lee Carey back, thought he was an awesome prospect. Any chance of him returning? It seems as though we do miss Danny Lye when he isn't around, was last night an example of this? I agree that in midfield, we are a bit short of bodies but where is Ian Parkes. Thought he was very good during pre-season, maybe he could be an option, if we need to change things?

Thought we were bit unlucky not to get a draw... Their goal was scrappy, but after that they defended very solid and we didn't have an answer to be fair. They had some solid guys at the back and won nearly everything in the air from our corners and crosses. We put them under some pressure and strung some nice passes together at times which was encouraging.
Obviously the biggest factor now on in, is the squad (injury , suspensions) . Last night we weren't full strength of course, but battled well. Lots of chopping and changing in the team so we done ok.
It's a shame we don't have Piscina as an option in the short term. JJ coming back and Ray Powell looking like he could start in the next game is a positive.
Not that bothered about this game .. Tooting, Ramsgate are the biggest challengers to us right now and only two go up auto. so if there's a game we don't wanna lose it is Saturday where there is alot more than 3 points at stake.

talking of luke, what's goin' on ?
Since it was decided he was staying he hasn't played a single game, rumour has it that he hasn't trained either ?
Surely he could've warmed the bench, he may not be totally match fit but I'm sure someone of his talent/age could last 20 mins and turn a game on it's head
If I was the dartford boss I'd be tapping dobla up to renew his partnership with bren gun in a loan deal

As for Plods goal, the oppo still had his leg wrapped round Czanner's back as the ball started bouncing off the woodwork. I don't think our defence could believe the ref hadn't blown or surely they'd have put more effort into clearing!  Roll Eyes

Yeah agreed... many refs (yeah even at this level) would have blown... blatant obstruction\holding. Too bad....

Thanks Dan.  Smiley

Did Craig Brown appear at all. I think he was with Sutton Utd for a few years and seemed a very decent right-winger. Nice to see we managed to keep Cooper and Haworth quiet up front.
