I have to disagree with you there, Dan. I'm not disappointed in the slightest that Sven is off - he's obviously much more interested in his own salary than anything else. He, in my opinion, is a typical example of a manager that we, as a nation, can do without. Yes, maybe the tabloids were to blame and at fault but if he wasn't so far up his own behind, he wouldn't have got caught up in this whole mess in the first place. True, this isn't ideal preparation for World Cup and it just seems that the whole thing has occured at precisely the wrong time. We have an excellent squad capable of winning the competiton, and before all these stroy's, I truly thought we were in with a very good shout. But now, who knows?! It's definitely going to have some kind of impact on our players. Whether they play to their true potential as it's Svens final competition or whether they let it get to them that their gaffer is off soon remains to be seen.
I think we need an English manager that shows some passion, pride and commitment to the country. No doubting that Rehhagel knows what he's doing, he's been there and done it before. Agree though that Sam Allardyce, Alan Curbishley and Steve McLaren aren't rerady yet. PSYCHO IS!!!
