Both sides laboured hard but created few clear openings as this encounter ended in stalemate.
Manager Tony Dolby opted for a two-man central defence with Danny Lye reverting to his more familiar midfield role in a 4-man unit, and Tonbridge had the majority of the possession and pressure in the first half. Harrow's main tactic was the long ball from the back for the lanky Brian Haule to chase.
The opening exchanges saw Borough's Fabio Valenti snatch a shot high over the bar from inside the box, and 'keeper Keita Karamoko needing lengthy treatment for a shoulder injury after colliding with Steve Sodje. Karamoko was able to continue, but was helpless midway through the half when Lye headed Anthony Hogg's well-flighted free kick against the Harrow crossbar. A cross-shot from Brendon Cass flew just past the angle, then Steve Searle scuffed his shot across the face of the goal as the Angels pressed hard approaching the break.
The second half was rather disjointed and patternless, the flow of the game being constantly interrupted by a whistle-happy referee. Harrow's John Bacon beat Jamie Turner to a through ball but headed wide, and Tonbridge were denied a penalty when the surging Sodje appeared to be brought down - but Harrow nearly nicked a goal on the hour when Dean Marney, up from the back for a free kick, saw his header come back off the inside of the post.
Neither side could create anything more in the way of clear openings, and the game petered out into a rather tame last 15 minutes.
