Tonbridge Angels 2-1 Winchester City

Having won both their previous ties convincingly away from home (4-1 at Lordswood and 3-0 at Corinthian Casuals), The FA Vase holders and reigning Wessex League champions were expected to give Tonbridge a strong challenge in this FA Cup tie - and so it proved.

Danny Lye shot straight at Winchester 'keeper Simon Arthur from an early opening, but it was a touch of class from Luke Piscina that separated the sides at the end of a fairly even first half. Piscina collected a long ball, turned inside his man, and rifled home a low left-foot drive from the edge of the box on 29 minutes to give the Angels the lead. Lloyd Webber had an opening to level right on half time, but put his shot too close to Jamie Turner.

The pattern continued in the second half. City were having slightly the better of the exchanges, with the impressive Shaun Dyke constantly causing problems down the right - but it was man-of-the match Piscina who scored again for Tonbridge after 74 minutes, heading home Sam Tydeman's left wing cross following a neat build up.

Jamie Musselwhite pulled one back with a firm header, but Winchester were unable to salvage a replay despite a late all-out assault.
