| Wednesday, 27 November, 2002: PASE Challenge Cup 1st Round. Hitchin Town (U-19) 2-1 TAFC (U-19) The Angels were very unlucky to loose to last years PASE overall champions (winners of the round robin final of all three PASE regional Divisions). Tonbridge struck the woodwork no fewer than 3 times and created many other good scoring chances. Coach Paul Davies declared himself delighted with his teams performance, commenting that the only danger Hitchin presented was from corners and set plays. Goal keeper Jamie Williams was both villain and star pulling off a number of excellent saves, but dropping a simple cross that allowed Hitchins winner. Tonbridge will now be entered in the PASE plate competition. Report by: Geoff Curtis. |
