Tonbridge Angels Res 2-0 Molesey Reserves
An excellent game of football won convincingly in the end by the young Angels against a competent Molesey side clearly shocked by the unexpected sacking of their manager the previous day.

Charlie Hawkes made his first start in the reserve team having impressed as substitute in previous matches, and it was his quicksilver work on the wing which set striker Rick Bryce up for the first goal on 39 minutes, Bryce rounding the stranded Molesey keeper to finish. Molesey worked hard to make an impact and Angels keeper Matt Clark pulled off several fine saves to emphasise his value as a shot-stopper.

The Angels midfield gradually took control, with the combative Matt Neal making a welcome return to the side after four months and adding steel to the finesse of Dexley Fidyk and John Sinclair. Molesey relied heavily on the offside trap against young strikers still learning to play off the last defender but failed to make an impression on the Angels defence, where young Max Jeffreys had a sound game in defence alongside the invaluable experience of Simon Dunk.

Tonbridge put the match beyond doubt in the 85th minute. The pace and guile of Tom Newbury forced a corner from the tired Molesey defence, Darren Pearson floated in the perfect cross and Ben Rainbow rose to power home a header any centre half would be proud to claim.
