Tonbridge Angels Res 8-1 Croydon Ath Res
The Angels dressing room at half time was hushed. Manager Del Moore stared at the ceiling, Assistant Bob Pittaway stared at the floor, the players stared at their boots, listening to the clock ticking. Not a lot you can say when you are six-nil up, is there?
Transformed by a delegation from the first team squad the Angels made easy work of a scratch Croydon Athletic side, who remarkably held out for eighteen minutes before Ken Pavey scored the first goal. Ryan Briggs added the second on 22 minutes, Kieran Wilson the third on 25 minutes, Nick Barnes the fourth on 29 minutes, Vojtech Brozik scored his first goal for the club on 32 minutes and Briggs scored with a direct free kick on 42 minutes to make the halftime score 6-0.
The second half started with the visitors determined to salvage some pride and Sonji Kyrishton duly scored a fine individual goal for them just two minutes into the half. A fightback never looked likely, however, and Mike Azzopardi's goal on 62 minutes and a second for Brozik on 65 minutes completed the rout.
