Tonbridge Angels 1-0 Dartford
A moment of quality from Hamid Barr was enough to decide this local derby on a bitterly cold night at Longmead. Dartford fielded recently departed Angels Ryan Briggs and Alan "Steam Train" Tutton in their line-up, with another ex-Angel, Rob Browning, on the bench.

Barr had looked the man most likely during a first half largely comprised of aimless midfield ping-pong, and it was no surprise on 37 minutes when he turned his man, cut in from the right and drilled his cross-shot under Darts 'keeper Jim Simpson and into the far corner.

Tonbridge were relatively untroubled by an insipid Darts midfield and forward line, though Danny Knowles did have to be alert to deal with an effort from Steve Mallinor on the half-hour with Steve Restarick ready to pounce on any fumble.

Both teams came out with more purpose to their play after the break. Knowles was quickly in action again, diving to his right to hold a fierce 20-yard drive from Briggs. Darts' Paul McCarthy missed a simple chance from a corner on the hour, somehow heading wide when it seemed easier to nod in, but this seemed to galvanise the Angels and they began to dominate.

Luke Piscina was in the thick of things, first being denied by Simpson then glancing a near-post header wide when well placed - then a fine cross from Mark Greatorex just eluded him at the far post. Darren Smith cleared off the Darts line after Barr had lobbed Simpson, and Piscina blazed wide from a good position after being set up by Kieron Wilson's mazy run and pass near the end.

A fair result on the night in what was generally a poor game, especially in the first half.
