Tonbridge Angels 3-2 Rothwell Town
Chaos at the end of this match when referee E Smith called a halt to proceedings on 89 minutes while fog cleared. The break proved useful to the Angels who grabbed three points in injury time with a penalty from Steve Portway.

Tonbridge were lucky to avoid going behind early in similar fashion to Tuesday's match, Micky Garside and Jason Turner missing chances before Lloyd Hume scrambled the ball away. Steve Portway shot wide on eight minutes from a Danny Tingley cross.

Richard Preston gave Rothwell the lead on 25 minutes when he converted at the far post after Joe Radford had misjudged Richard Weale's free-kick. It only took one minute for the Angels to level the scores, Steve Portway drilling home Peter Overton's cross.

Nick Barnes and Ryan Royston both saw headed attempts foiled, then Ossie Mintus should have done better for Rothwell, directing his header wide from another Weale free kick. Tonbridge stepped up the pressure, with Portway and Barnes both getting chances to score, before a Rothwell counter-attack gave them a 2-1 lead. Joe Radford made another error, misjudging a through-ball from Preston which was lobbed over the stranded goalkeeper by Micky Garside.

Acting manager Chris Hiscock immediately made a double substitution, bringing on Glenn Cook and Mark Greatorex for John Beales and Ryan Briggs. The move proved effective as Tonbridge piled on the pressure for the last 15 minutes.

Peter Overton turned a defender in the box before shooting just over the bar, before Nick Barnes got the equaliser with a deft header at the near post from debutant Steve Searle's cross. Rothwell again had luck on their side when a defender somehow turned a cross over his own bar from three yards out.

Approaching injury time and with Radford about to take a free kick, fog suddenly consumed the pitch, causing the referee to pause the game. Confusion ensued during a five minute break, but the Angels got the winner after the restart. Nick Barnes won a penalty in injury time and Portway duly converted to give Tonbridge a 3-2 win.
