Tonbridge Angels 1-0 Newport IOW
The 'Port remain at the foot of the table with just one point from their last five games despite a battling performance at Tonbridge. A first half Wade Falana strike was enough for the home side, who had the better of the chances in a scrappy game.

Bolstered by the return of ex-Wycombe star Paul Emblen, the Angels started the brighter. Falana sliced horribly wide after being put through expertly by Emblen, but the Angels striker wasn't to be denied on 19 minutes, neatly clipping the ball over Newport 'keeper Joe McCormack after the defence made a hash of clearing a cross.

Angels 'keeper Allan Lewis immediately had to make a fine save at the feet of Gareth Keeping, then Danny Rofe headed Lang's corner wide from close in as Newport came back into it. Azzopardi, Roser and Emblen all went close for the Angels before the break, which came at the right time for the 'Port.

The Angels brought on Steve Portway for the injured Falana at half time, and McCormack got down well to save the striker's left foot shot on 51 minutes. Keeping missed another chance for the 'Port, shooting straight at Lewis after being put through by Lee Cole. Ryan Royston returned the compliment for the Angels, side-footing a Barnes free kick straight at McCormack from close in.

Jamie O'Rourke seemed certain to equalise for Newport on 73 minutes, but delayed his shot allowing Scott Saunders to save the Angels with a last-ditch tackle. Newport threw everybody forward to try and salvage a point, but couldn't find a way through to Lewis. McCormack had to save well from Barnes near the end as the Angels looked for the clincher on the break.
