Tonbridge Angels 2-0 Fisher Athletic
Tonbridge won this encounter at Longmead Stadium with something to spare, despite missing many good chances. Danny Kedwell's last minute goal following a mistake by Fisher 'keeper John Henry sealed victory and capped a solid Angels team performance.

Fisher rarely threatened - strikers Leroy Huggins and Dave Fleming were shut out by the Angels defence, and 'keeper Joe Radford was a spectator for most of the match.

Tonbridge were soon on top. Brendon Cass shot too close to Henry after getting behind the Fisher defence, then veteran striker Steve Portway could't round Henry after being put through by a neat Cass flick-on. An out-of-sorts Portway failed with two more good chances before the break.

Fisher's only threat of the half came when Angels central defender Ryan Royston thumped a header against his own upright attempting to clear Tony Dolby's free kick.

The breakthrough for the Angels came on 50 minutes. Kedwell beat Andy Kearns down the right and whipped in a fine low cross. Henry could only parry it out to Cass, who finished crisply. Fisher tried to fight back straight away, Huggins heading straight at Radford when well placed - but the Angels quickly re-established their dominance, with Ryan Briggs tireless in midfield.

Fisher's frustration began to show, Dolby being lucky to escape with only a yellow card after elbowing Craig Roser. Kedwell got the goal his hard-working display deserved just before the whistle, nipping in to convert as Henry waited for a through ball to roll into the area rather than clear with his feet.
