The squad profiles have today been added to the site. Watch this space for further updates to Angels Online for the 2006-07 season.
Tomorrow the Angels take on Tooting & Mitcham United for the final pre-season friendly. It will be the fifth time in a year that the clubs have played each other. On the previous four occasions both clubs have won twice so an interesting game is in store.
Wednesday, 9 August, 2006: Martin features as Angels impress
Former Crystal Palace, Whyteleafe and Croydon Athletic star Andy Martin made his first appearance in an Angels shirt in the friendly at Sittingbourne last night. Martin was playing as a triallist but Angels Online's latest information is that the signing of Martin is "unconfirmed but likely". The former Wales Under-21 international impressed alongside Jon Main and will play again on Saturday against Tooting & Mitcham.
Jon Main (penalty) opened the scoring before Kam Singh levelled matters, but a Drew Watkins free-kick and a late goal from recent signing Robbie Kember sealed victory. The Reserves also tasted success, winning 2-0 at Bly Spartans through goals from Dean Spenceley and Ian Parkes.
Sunday, 6 August, 2006: Another draw; Kember signs for Angels
Tonbridge Angels made an important move in their bid for Premier Division survival next season by capturing the signature of midfielder Robert Kember yesterday. Kember played for Crawley Town last season and has previously had spells with Crystal Palace, Woking, Basingstoke Town and Lewes.
The Angels drew with Division One South side Chatham Town 3-3 in hot conditions yesterday. Jon Main put the Angels a goal ahead early on before former Angel Darren Smith hit an equaliser mid-way through the first half. Chatham went ahead twice in the second half but were pegged back both times, courtesy of a Tony Dolby free-kick and a John Beales header late on. Wade Falana featured for the Angels after half-time and is expected to make a decision on his future this week.
